From Trip: Mahantango Creek
Trip Date:1/5/2009
Hotspot Title: Mahantango Creek (West Branch) near Oriental
# of Fish Caught: 4
Fish Length (Average): 12 inches
Fish Length (Max): 21 inches
Fish Weight (Average): 1 lbs. 0 oz.
Fish Weight (Max): 2 lbs. 4 oz.
Bait Type: Nightcrawler
Bait Details: Very cold so used a worm. Hungry fish under the bridge near the ball field. A local indicated these are stocked by the gun club.

The large brown was VERY impressive for a small stream. Markings indicate a stocker holdover. Very nice fish for this area.
Location Details: Off US 15 north of Liverpool make the turn on route 104. Proceed and turn left at the sign to "Oriental". (So named as it was a Chinese camp that worked on the PA Canal).

Make a right at the old OX bar (my house) and the store. Proceed a mile and turn left when you see the covered bridge. I park at the lot at the small athletic field there-fish upstream and below the bridge.
